MEET LEIGH & NGAIA
Leigh and Ngaia, along with their two children, are no strangers to the building process, having already built their first home with Classic Builders. They enjoyed the experience so much the first time around that when it came to building again, it was an easy choice. They loved working with Classic Builders and had a clear vision for their next home — one that was tailored to their family’s evolving needs and lifestyle.
The Plan
For this build, Leigh and Ngaia decided to go with a plan they knew worked. They had previously built a Classic Builders home, and with a few modifications, they brought the same design to life on a new section. With a growing family, they wanted space that felt open and connected, yet functional for both everyday living and entertaining. The 4-bedroom home features an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living room, complemented by a separate lounge and a dedicated rumpus room for the kids. The living room opens out to a covered portico, creating the perfect spot for alfresco dining and enjoying warm summer days.
The Process
Having been through the build process before, Leigh and Ngaia knew what to expect—and that was a smooth, collaborative experience. One of the key highlights for them was the relationship they had with the Classic Builders team. They felt like nothing was ever too much to ask, whether it was incorporating a special light into the kitchen design or working through other custom touches. The team always had ideas ready and was committed to making sure the home reflected their vision.
Another aspect they appreciated was how well the team understood their budget. By working closely together, they were able to maximise every dollar and achieve almost everything on their wish list.
Materials and design features
It was the little details that made this home feel truly theirs. Leigh and Ngaia had some unique design ideas, like incorporating a teal green tile in the bathroom to bring character to the space. The team at Classic Builders helped them come up with a creative pattern to showcase the tile. In the kitchen, their designer worked with them to incorporate gold accents around a special light they had chosen, tying the space together beautifully.
The home’s exterior is a stylishly cladd in Premiere's Country concrete brick, giving it both modern appeal and durability. Topped with a concrete tile roof in Hacienda, the home is as striking outside as it is inside. These personal touches, combined with high-quality materials, brought their home to life.
Overall experience
In the end, everything they hoped for in their home came to fruition. The layout, the finishes, and the design have all worked perfectly for their family. With features like the kids’ rumpus room and the bi-fold doors that open the living space up to the outdoors, they have a home that fits their lifestyle, where they can relax and host friends with ease. Looking back, Leigh and Ngaia feel incredibly thankful and blessed to have worked with Classic Builders again and couldn’t be happier with their new home.
